Installation view of contemporary art by J. Cassette

This body of work explores the relationship between handmade art and computer-generated imagery, focusing on the contrast between the physical and the digital. The pixel - central to the digital image -becomes the recurring motif. It appears in various nuanced forms, often represented by hand-cut 1cm squares, 3D cubes, or hand-drawn lines.

From an exploration of processes and materials through handcraft, the ‘unfinished’ becomes the art. The assemblage and display of these processes - replicating the digital pixel - are archived and presented as found artefacts; buried and rediscovered, an homage to lost processes.
